Privacy Policy

In a world increasingly driven by technology, privacy of personal information is now a more pertinent issue than ever.

I take the privacy of all users extremely seriously. The policy below sets out and explains how your personal information, or simply, “data”, is used.

Site Management

This blog, Laura’s Little Home, is managed solely by me. There are no guest writers or other users with administrative rights over this website. Should this change, this policy will be updated accordingly.

This blog exists only as this website – there are no spin-off websites that also store personal information.

Personal Information

Personal information, or simply, “data”, is information that can potentially be used to identify you, or is otherwise related to you. This includes:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your website URL (if optionally provided when leaving a comment, see below)
  • Cookies

Under no circumstances should personal information of a sensitive nature be submitted to this website. If this happens, it will also be subject to this policy.

How and why you provide your data

Your data is provided either voluntarily (i.e. by you) or otherwise. For example, when you leave a comment on one of my posts, your name and optionally your website URL are provided voluntarily. Depending on how you are logged into the website, you may have to provide your email address yourself or it may be done automatically (e.g. if logged in with a WordPress account). Of these items of data, only the name and website URL are made public with your comment.

This website may also use third-party service providers to service various aspects of the website. These have their own policies and the data provided is processed and used in accordance with those policies. These will be explained and linked to in this policy.

Comments

When you leave a comment, you provide your name and optionally your website URL. As described above, you also provide your email address, either voluntarily, or automatically through your WordPress account (for example) if using one. The email address is not made public.

If you are logged in with a WordPress account when leaving a comment, WordPress may track your visit and leave a record of your comment in accordance with their policies, which you can view Here.

When comments are approved, your profile picture is publicly shown with your comment.

Jetpack

Jetpack is a plugin that tracks website usage and provides information such as user actions. In doing so, your IP address may be captured, but nothing else. Please see the policy on this Here.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that contain information about your preferences. Their purpose is to give you a personalised experience of this website.

How your data may be used

Your data may be used for the following purposes:

  • To help understand this blog’s audience, and hence maintain and improve this website.
  • To respond to comments left by readers.
  • To answer queries from readers.
  • To provide user support.
  • To investigate potential illegal activity.

I will not sell or in any way distribute any of your personal information without your consent unless required by law.

Your entitlements and consent

You are entitled to view, edit and delete the personal information this website holds.

Please email laura@lauraslittlehome.com if you have any queries about this policy or would like to send a request about your data.

Note that by continuing to browse this site, or accepting cookie consent, you agree to the above terms. Cookie consent expires after 183 days.
